I’ve been on gym break for almost 2 months now.
The original plan was to freeze my gym membership account and try if just running more regularly will work just as good, or even better. If it works out well, I was planning to terminate my gym membership and save about Php20,000 per year!
Unfortunately, even the best-laid plans fail. Mine wasn’t really laid out well, hehe. And so yes, I kinda set myself up for failure.
In short, I have yet to do a single run this month. Last month, I did two short runs. And that was it. *facepalm*
Anyway… I really hope I can go back to my fitness routine soon. The question “do diet pills work?” is out, because I am not going back to them. The
good not-so-bad news, actually is that I gained back just a few pounds in the past 2 months. If I lost weight through diet pills, I’d have regained back all the lost pounds sooner. So that’s one consolation for me…
Uhh yeah right, stop rationalizing yourself. Go out and just do it.
Hayz, please wish me luck.
I ran my first 5k race last Sunday with the Pinay In Action Fun Run.
I learned about the event only about 2 weeks ago, so I did not have enough time to prepare myself. But I have wanted, for the longest time, to join a run. And if I procrastinated and made up flimsy excuses again, I will never be able to join any race. So I jumped in and registered with Pinay In Action.
The race was fun. It was difficult. It was exhilarating. I’m glad for my family’s support.
Read about my race experience and check out the photos in my fitness blog – Project: Fit. Thanks!
It’s been a while since the last update on my health blog, Project:Fit. I have a new post there now. It’s about my ECG results that sent me panicking and/or emoting. I’m so relieved it’s just a case of a “misread” test. Whew. Read the story here.
In anticipation of the hectic schedule that come with the Holidays, I froze my Fitnes First account. That means no workout for the whole month of December, boohoo! By freezing my account, I will not pay the whole monthly fee, which I am sure I won’t be able to use anyway. Instead, I will only pay a minimal P400.00. What’s it for? I’m not sure. But at least it’s better than paying the whole fee. I saved Php1597! Continue reading Health Updates
I know, I know.
My entries have become sporadic and sparse again lately. On top of that, I have been unable to visit your blogs. This is because, aside from parenting tasks (waking up early, driving, tutoring, driving, breaking up fights), I have also been busy with other personal pursuits.
Things like these (personal pursuits, I mean) make me excited.
First of my personal pursuits… I have a new blog – Project:Fit. It’s where I will put my Project:FitMom entries from now on. Why, yes naman, the Project is still ongoing. 😛 Through Project:Fit, I hope to inspire others to lose weight. Special thanks go to Julie and her husband who helped me set up this new blog. Thank you!
My other exciting personal pursuit… Lately, I have been cooking up something with a group of friends. It’s still in the making, but it will be out soon. Very soon. You’ll be the first to know. 😉 Continue reading Updates
Two weeks ago, I decided to join my gym buddies, who have been chiding me to go out with them for the longest time.
You might imagine gym buddies to be figure-conscious folks who eat like birds. But not these gym buddies. It’s no wonder why I’ve been having so much difficulty losing the last 5 pounds. I hang out with these guys after working out at the gym!
We went to Bellissimo Ristorante, a small Italian-inspired restaurant along Scout Castor Street, near the corner of Tomas Morato in Quezon City. It’s owned by actor Cesar Montano, whose paintings make the place a bit more interesting. (Unfortunately, he wasn’t there that night. *sad* )
Yep, the resto doubles as his gallery. The first time I ate here was with my bloggin’ Eat-Club girl friends. Continue reading Night-out with gym buddies @ Bellissimo Ristorante
