Project: Persevere!

Lest some of you start thinking I may have abandoned Project:FitMom, let me post some updates.

Date………………Weight (pounds)…………….Total Weight Loss

2/13/07 ……………… 162 …………………………………… –

6/03/07 ………………. 150 …………………………………. 12

6/27/07 ……………….. 146 …………………………………. 16

8/29/07 ……………….. 141 …………………………………. 21

That makes me just 11 pounds away from my goal of 130 pounds! I noticed, though, that I lost very little in the last two months. I may be approaching the plateau stage of weight loss.

So what have I been doing?

*scratches head*

Uhh… well, there were times I totally screwed up and gave in to sweet cravings. Or attacked a bag of chips mercilessly (deja vu). Or had one too may cups of rice to go with a delicious meal of grilled liempo (pork ribs). I plead guilty to all of the above.

But, as I have learned early on, self-forgiveness applies to weight loss. Okay, I failed. But not miserably. Having given in to indulgence doesn’t mean it’s the end of my fitness quest. Tomorrow is another day. Forgive yourself, Chats, pick up the pieces and move one. It’s much
like marriage, you see?

Why does it sound like I’m rallying myself? Kasi po, I just had the most sinful kare-kare dinner, with matching undetermined amount of rice. 😛 Yummy indeed. The previous night was the grilled liempo dinner I was talking about a few paragraphs back, with matching tomato-onion-bagoong (shrimp paste) salsa and an undetermined amount of rice again. I guess when one is tired and sleepless, eating becomes a source of comfort.

My kids have been in and out of illnesses the past few days. The most recent episode was last night when MagNate refused to sleep recumbent because he had a boil on his head. He woke up crying every two hours. In the morning, I brought him to the doctor who confirmed that the fever is being caused by the boil, and not an respiratory infection (lungs all clear, whew!). The whole day, I was like a mad woman dashing from one campus to the other, attending parent-teacher conferences, picking up kids, and dropping them off at the tutorial center. All along, I had a fussy passenger (Nate) who had no choice but to stay and wait with me for her sisters to finish their school day.

Oh well… tomorrow today is another day. Wednesday is my cycling class day. My love for the vigorous one-hour cycling class has not ebbed one bit. I still look forward to doing them.

I had meant to post an update on Project:FitMom. But I suppose I still have some hang-over from the recent frantic days. So this post came out so manic. LOL. Perhaps next time… when my mind is in a better, more tranquil state.
