My So-Growing-Up Girl

I saw this amusing, colorful home-made diary of Patchy yesterday. I took this picture hurriedly- I can’t let her catch me! I admire her creativity. To make doubly sure some nosey mom doesn’t read it, she stapled the pages together and tied a ribbon to seal it… Hmmm.. makes me wonder what secrets are in there…

My Patchy is growing up so fast. Everytime some relatives, even fellow-mommies at school, see her, they tell me how fast she has grown and how beautiful she’s become. It seems like she is blooming, and so early at that. I remember when I was nine, I wasn’t so concerned with my hair or my outfit or my big teeth!
I know one day she will outgrow her childhood and become a teenager. I just hope there’s something I can do to hold it off a bit longer. I don’t want my little girl to grow up too fast. *sigh*

Someone very wise (must have been a mother herself) said: “There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One is roots; the other, wings.” I hope I am ready when the time comes.

Any book with that title would be too irresistible. So I poked around and peeked in a bit. Right. Just some girly kid stuff in there. 😉

  1. Our pic together was taken 2 years ago. We share the same antics – those funny faces and cross-eyes! 😛

  2. You have one creative girl there! I just so adore crafts but when I was her age, my own private diary looked like Plain Jane compared to Patchy’s. Galing!

  3. Thank you! 🙂 She likes to tinker with crafts and artsy projects. para na akong may national bookstore because i stock supplies for them.. sobrang bilis naman nila maubos! hehe

  4. She wrote a story book as a homework in sibika. the story was amusing yet sensible.. will post it when i have a chance.. I think she may have a future in writing (blogging, maybe?) 🙂
