Friday’s Feast # 121

Which language would you like to learn and why?

I’d like to learn Chinese Mandarin. Chinese culture and history has always fascinated me. And my kids are learning the language, so how about I learn it too? (I know a few phrases and can read several characters already! Yay me!)

What’s the funniest thing you’ve heard or read so far this week?

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s privilege speech in the Senate early this week! To quote from the article in
The Inquirer:

“I am not angry, Mr. President. I am irate! I am furious! I am foaming at the mouth. I am hitting the roof! I am homicidal. I am suicidal! I am ballistic! I am insulted! I am humiliated. I am abased. I am degraded…”

Sen. Miriam is known for her quotable quotes, but this one had me LMAO! For those who are not in the Philippines, a backgrounder: Sen. Miriam was one of the candidates for the Supreme Court Chief Justice position. Unfortunately, she did not make it to the short list. And that was how she reacted. Really, Philippine politics can be such a circus!

Which movie was so bad you couldn’t watch the whole thing?

I can’t even remember the title anymore.. LOL!

Main Course
If there were a holiday in your honor that did not use your actual name, what would the day be called?

Err.. National Chocoholics Day. Or Foot-Spa-for-All-Moms Day. 😀

Name a movie which is coming out soon that you would like to see.

I think it’s already out: A Good Year. Because Russell Crowe is my fave actor! And I’d like to see him taking on a lighter role. Plus of course Ridley Scott directed it (I loved Gladiator).

  1. I can’t imagine why that senator didn’t make the short list! LOL

I’d like to see A Good Year too!

  2. Hi! I just posted my very first Friday’s Feast.

I heard her speech on TV and I also couldn’t help but laugh. She said it with so much feeling which made it more hilarious.

Oh, I love the idea of National Chocoholics Day and Foot-Spa-for-All-Moms Day. I love chocolates and I love foot spa too. Which reminds me, I still have to claim my free foot spa at Bioessence.

Yes, it’s already showing. It seems like an interesting movie.

    Happy weekend.

  3. That senator sounds too funny! I’m always amazed at the people who get involved in politics. There are certainly a lot of strong and unique personalities!

  4. That was a great feast! Aha! You’re a chocoholic like one of my good friends. My husband was one too. He loved his Snickers bar.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Nice feast. 🙂 Too funny on your soup – that Senator’s reaction was over-the-top. I like your main course. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend. 🙂

  6. Thanks for stopping by.
Did you get to see Happy Feet this weekend?
I see you are an Eva Cassidy fan. Wasn’t she just remarkable? So talented, musically and artistically. It is so sad that her life had to end so young.
