Life with three kids… Where do I begin? Everyday is an adventure – no dull moments with them. Sure it’s hard (say that again!?). But it is also full of rich and rewarding moments. Each day is a reason to say “cheers to life!”
It’s not the big and the great, though, but the small pockets of happy moments that really make mothering my three kids fulfilling. And when are we really at our happiest, nicest, best moments? When else, but while we’re eating together! 😛
Whether we are making food or partaking of it, celebrating a birthday or a high grade, going out for a family meal or a quick after-school snack, eating brings the “cheers to everyday”.
So I put together a video of some of our best moments with food!

My last blog entry was four months ago! I had planned on blogging more during my kids’ school break (May to July). But our helper, ate J, went home in early June for her mother’s funeral.
Guess what? She hasn’t come back. And isn’t coming back, I think. (Not that I want her back… anymore, hmp.) Welcome me to the yayaless club.
So that is my excuse for not blogging. While this blog has been silent, a lot has been going on. For the most part, I was occupied with transforming myself into… Tada! Homemaker Extraordinaire – full time cook, laundry woman, cleaning maid, and of course, chauffeur! 😉 Continue reading The Yayaless Life – helpless but not hopeless
Hi there! 🙂 I took a short blog break and all of a sudden It’s mid-March. AND! All of a sudden, I feel the heat of summer upon us! Do you feel it too??
Anyway… The Holy Week break is just a couple of weeks ahead, and for those of you who aren’t planning to travel too far, here’s an idea for a staycation at Novotel Manila Araneta Center.

Hey there! Merry Christmas!
First of all, I am so happy that my blogging mojo is slowly coming back. Blogging is something I am passionate about, but so many things in the past two, three years have prevented me from actively blogging.
As life has always been, 2015 was a good year. I count my blessings, and they are plenty.
Nate, whose eczema (atopic dermatitis) was on a seemingly continuous flare-up for two years, is finally getting a respite. His skin has never looked so good in the past 2 years, and he gained some weight too. He volunteered to play basketball (!!!) for their class. Two years ago, he couldn’t even join P.E. class because his skin was so badly flared up. Today, he ate fried chicken without breaking into an itching fit. Seeing him confident and happy gives our family so much joy and gratitude for his newfound wellness.
My Dad passed on middle of this year. Though our family dearly misses his presence, we are comforted by his freedom from suffering that Alzheimer’s Disease and emphysema brought to him. It is a bittersweet Christmas for me. Because Christmas usually means going home to be with him and the rest of the family. Christmas will never be the same without Daddy. And it will take a while for our family to get used to this…
Daughter number 1 turned 18 and went to college… When I started blogging, she was just getting braces. Daughter number 2 is, I think, blooming into a food lover. Not only because she loves to eat, but also because she cooks and bakes! I AM ECSTATIC that someone in this family can finally take over the kitchen soon. I can die tomorrow and be at peace knowing the family won’t starve.
So there, the highlights of the year that was. I look back with gratitude. I look forward to another good year… And to finally filling this space again! Yay, welcome me back to blogging. 🙂
Merry Christmas to everyone!
My family is always on the hunt for great breakfast places. We’ve gone back several times to Ally’s All Day Breakfast Place on Malingap Street, Quezon City. Malingap Street is right off Maginhawa Street, Quezon City’s foodie strip.
Because the girls in this family have the sweet tooth, we simply love the pancakes, crepes and french toasts of Ally’s. The boys – well they eat anything and everything (except if Nate’s allergic to it).
Ally’s on Malingap Street used to be in a super small space. Our first attempts to eat there were unsuccessful, because either there were no tables or no parking available. But, hooray! Several months ago, Ally’s moved to a bigger and better space with lots of parking, just down the same street.
