An Evening With Friends

Last Friday night, I met up with Dine, Noemi and Annamanila for some serious dining. It was to celebrate my birthday and award Annamanila’s crisp hundred-dollar bill which she won from the Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs for 2007 contest held by Janette Toral. img_2708.jpgHow lucky of her to be one of the blogger-participants randomly picked for the cash prize. Dine, by the way, placed an awesome second among the Top 10 Influential blogs. So it was a celebration of all sorts.

I said serious dining, for serious it was. We went to Tong Yang Hotpot Restaurant, along Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. It’s been a while since my last hotpot adventure, so I was initially overwhelmed with the array of fresh items waiting to be grilled and dunked into the pot of simmering broth.

We also did some serious Mac-shooting on Dine’s SexyMac. I found the Mac a great way to practice that elusive (at least for me) picture-perfect smile. It’s like smiling at the mirror – you get to check out your smile right before the “flash” goes off!

And looky here! This is what Annamanila gave me: a ceramic work of art by the renowned Ugu Bigyan. She bought this for herself from her last trip to Quezon. But then she decided to give it to me – lucky me! Thank you, annamanila, for the thoughtfulness and for bringing us together for this dinner.

I had fun, ladies! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules. I’m sure there will be more dinners, lunches, breakfasts, extended coffee breaks, and other excuses to get together. I look forward to them all. 🙂

(Annamanila’s photo and Mac-shots in collage are from Dine… Thank you!)
