It’s week 5, and we’re playing anything red and/or green…
I’m in Baguio City for the Christmas holidays, and it should be very apt if I post something from this Great Big Ukay H(e)aven.
My sis, the undisputed Ukay Queen of the family, helped me find this -

A huge Arnold Palmer green tote, at a wonderful price of Php150.00! Though an Ukay item, the bag is still in excellent condition, including the zips and the linings.
Oh yeah, we also found an Agnes B. document bag that seems big and sturdy enough to hold my laptop! Also priced at Php150.00. I am so loving my ukay finds…
Both bags were just barely out of the sako when my sisters and I spotted them. Manong vendor was stillbusy unloading his merchandise onto the side of the street. I never knew that Session Road turns into one big night market at, well… at night of course. (doh)
Vendors come out into the sidewalks as night falls, and peddle their merchandise – clothes, bags, shoes, toys… Nakakalula sa dami. And, because the vendors pay the city a very minimal fee to be able to take part in the night market, the prices are considerably lower than those in the ukay shops.
As always, and as in any night market, be wary of pickpockets and vendors out to rip you off. Exercise your right to haggle!
Most importantly, check the item thoroughly for damages, especially since lighting is poor in this night market.

That is a nice bag! I have a student too who got a red and green “chili: backpack for he same price. Except for the “cabinet” smell, it was a good bag

That’s a great find. I’d like to try shopping in an ukay store as soon as my sinuses cooperate.
